M.A.R.K 10:14 -- JOEL & TAMMY DEBORTOLI: NEPAL
'Mentoring At Risk Kids'
"Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession" Psalms 2:8
The simple directive that God has given us is to ask God for the entire nation of Nepal, fully believing that He will give it to us as our inheritance. The God-given strategy to accomplish this vision is threefold. First, we want to establish a Search & Rescue Center to feed and pray for the hundreds of crippled homeless men and women on the streets of Kathmandu. Our long-term vision is to both plant a Holy Spirit-filled and led church there and to build a place where we can offer vocational training to those who have the ability to work. We have already been providing vocational training for a blind man that we met and prayed for on the street. We have seen many homeless people healed and touched by God on the street and we see a need to have a location where we can further pray for and disciple them.
Our Second Mission is to care for orphans and widows. Our long term goal is to acquire a home with land where we can build the orphanage/children's center. This center will be open to any child that God puts in our path who is in need of a home. In accordance with James 1:27, we will have widows help raise the children and live in the home(s) also. We plan on sustaining it by growing vegetables, farming fish, and raising livestock.
Third, we plan to do outreaches in remote villages where no church has been established. We believe God's strategy for the un-reached villages is to simply love them in the name of Jesus. Love them by praying for their sick. Love them by providing needs that God can meet, through us. Love them by teaching them about, and introducing them to Jesus. Love them by revealing to them that they are lost sons and daughters of the King of Kings. And love them by sharing the good news of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus and to plant churches where believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit and fire and come to the realization that they are royalty in the Kingdom of God.
Seeing these visions fulfilled will come only through intimacy with the Father. From this place of intimacy, God will use us to preach His kingdom in love (1Cor 13) by healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing the lepers, and casting out demons (Mt 10:8). His love and kindness will lead people to repentance (Ro. 2:4) and they will fall completely in love with Jesus.
