Heavenly Hope Relief Ministries (HHRM)

"Upon approaching the refugee camp, the smell came first. The putrid stench of raw human waste hit us before we entered the place. As we walked in we found the source. The lower floor of the building was eight inches deep in human excrement and waste water due to some broken sewer pipes. The camp was designed to hold nine hundred. Now the condemned structure held 8,000: families, children, etc. Each room held wall to wall bunks, three high, with several families living in each tier. One family would occupy two bunks, not just for sleeping but for EVERYTHING, including cooking. I watched one mother hold out the skeletal frame of a baby boy with his head lolling backwards. Regrettably, food had come to him too late. My stomach knotted as I heard the rattle in his tiny throat. My eyes filled with tears as he drew his last shuddering breath and his mother clasped his lifeless body to her. Where??? I screamed inside myself, "Where is the church of Jesus Christ"!?!"...Loren Cunningham-YWAM founder

PROBLEM:
War, famine, and natural disasters have resulted in hundreds of thousands of people living in the exact conditions mentioned above, EVERY DAY. Their lives are swept away in an instant, and they are suffering, many times almost completely forgotten.

HHRM GOAL:
We will go to the hard places to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We will go to the places where human suffering is incomprehensible, beyond imaginable, beyond bearable; the places where people have lost everything and need our help. We will respond to those needs by bringing His love with one hand and by sharing His truth with the other. Whether it's rebuilding homes, bringing water, food and supplies, or administering medical attention, we will go and do as the Lord leads. HHRM will also share the truth of the gospel and the hope it provides: The hope of a day where there will be no more suffering and no more pain. Jesus will be there to wipe away every tear from their eyes.

HOW CAN YOU HELP:
OPTION #1: DONATE. We need support. The need is great, and we need everyone to give up something, anything to help: Daily coffee? A few days of shopping? New car payment? Vacation? We all can do more. Please consider what you can do, and DO IT.

OPTION #2: JOIN OUR TEAM. Heavenly Hope Relief Team is looking for volunteers who will be able to respond on a call's notice (natural disaster) or give a few weeks of their time to go and help, in any way they can. We aren't looking for special qualifications (though if you are in the medical or construction field, it would be a bonus); we're just looking for those with a servant's heart and a willing hand.

OPTION #3: PRAY. Pray for God's direction of this ministry. Pray for His anointing. Pray for our safety as we go to the hard places. Pray for us however the Holy Spirit leads.
